Gobble gobble

Ewww.. no turkey for me this Christmas please

Blackhead or histomoniasis, seems to have raised it’s ugly head (boom boom…gobble gobble!) – it’s a parasite that enters the turkey’s gut and attacks it’s liver, making it’s head go a pretty shade of blue. Before it dies. It all sounds a bit grim to me.

Also, the Farmers Union is reputed to be playing gregorian chant music to turkeys as a means of calming them down this year. Apparently, this can relax a turkey when it suspects the farmer’s hands are approaching its neck.
