Once again it’s conclusively proven that I have no mates. So far I have received precisely 0 copies of MSBlaster and 0 copies of SoBig. Actually, perhaps that just means my friends are organised, sensible, virus-scanning email users who’ve managed their infections well. I don’t know, but I’m glad I’m not Phil Karn, who’s had over 600,000 copies of SoBig alone. And no, that doesn’t mean all his friends are dorks – read the linked page and you’ll see why.
Meanwhile, mail systems are apparently buckling under the strain of both message traffic and bounce messages sent by irate users and admins. Perhaps its time to consider using alternative software?
