Anniversary 9/11

Its here – a whole year has passed since the Twin Towers disaster. When you’re reflecting, don’t lose sight of the wider consequences. Sure, remember those who died – I don’t think anyone who was around will every forget. But don’t let it be used as a stick to beat our personal privacies and freedoms to death with.

Think carefully about the current crop of legislation, not just in the US – how much of your independence are you willing to trade for “security”? How much security will you get for it? How many of your rights are you really willing to waive?
